Link road- cars using as short cut?
I've been quite shocked by the amount of people who are using the link road as a shortcut, I thought it was buses only???? But some people seem to think they are invisible and can therefore drive down it as fast as possible and not be seen....

Putting aside the anti-social nature of people doing this; I think the junction around the top of The Dell and where the Link road meets IP Avenue could become could become quite risky if this persists as I'm not sure everyone is looking for car traffic as well as buses.
Especially as you turn right onto the estate in IP Avenue, most people assume cars will turn left and therefore move away.

Yes, I've seen some terrible near misses and people clearly know they shouldn't be driving on that road as they drive so fast increasing their danger level. I did see a police car sat near by the other night so maybe there's been some interest higher up in this matter. It is sadly though I feel just a matter of time before a serious accident occurs though.

According to our local councillor the buses have cameras on them so anyone using it at the same time as a bus will be photographed and fined!

I agree that if the signs are up saying it's for buses only then people should respect that rule. However, I do think it's a bit silly. It's brand new road (currently under-utlised) which would provide a quick and easy drive to the station/Asda etc. and would also alleviate the volume of traffic on the main road way in. Surely it would be more sensible to open it up to all users. If not, then I would suggest they move the 'Give Way' section so that buses have to give way from the new road instead.

Totally agree with the above we pay enough money to live here we should also have the right to get to Asda or the station fast just as the buses do so but I think it's a little unfair as we all know how the lights at the top of the road cause back log of traffic something needs to be done to ease the congestion going out ingress park at the lights !!!!!
